do you guys ever think about the fact that Phoenix was the same age as Mia was when she died when he was disbarred? That he said goodbye to her for the last time, thinking that he was finally living up to her legacy only to months later lose it all? Would he think she would be disappointed in him for falling into the same flavor of trap that she did? Do you think he sat in her office under the window without a badge as something within him died in just the same place as she did?

If you donāt stan Midoriya what are you DOING he is so GOOD the core of his character is just. CARING about every person he comes across & trying to HELP them even though most of the people heās encountered before yuuei had been real nasty to him like he couldāve given up! He couldāve said āyouāve never cared about me so why should I care about youā & turned his back on the world, used his talents for himself or even become a villain (like. My dude has plenty of motive I donāt even think Iād blame him) but he DIDNāT he tries SO HARD he just wants to be able to help people!
āBut heāa a crybaby :/ā And?!?! First of all being in touch with your emotions enough to cry isnāt a bad thing!!! Second of all heās been through a lot and is constantly under so much pressure god forbid he cry a little bit!!
His idol crushed his dreams! & yet he didnāt harbor any ill will toward all might and he still acted & ended up helping save bakugou (& then got SCOLDED FOR IT WTF. Like the pro heroes were all like āyou couldāve died!ā but they werenāt doing anything!!! Bkg would be dead if Midoriya hadnāt intervened and he got YELLED AT FOR IT. the disrespect is astronomical). He cares about people so much even when theyāve given him nothing but reasons he SHOULDNāT care about them but because heās so good (and stubborn lmao) he cares about them anyway!! If I was bullied for 10 years I sure as hell wouldnāt care about my bully but because Midoriyaās a literal angel he still does?!?! Like wtf. Heās just so good!
& the most irritating part is that because of aforementioned 10 years of bullying and being let down by everyone (even his mother which while Inko is a great mother & loves Izuku so much she did screw up by not believing in him) he has like no self worth and doesnāt realize how amazing he is?!? He breaks his bones CONSTANTLY bc he doesnāt care about the cost to himself as long as he can save other people he literally doesnāt rlly care if he dies like when he was being killed by muscular he was scared but his thoughts were āsorry Kota, sorry all might, sorry momā he was more worried about āletting people downā than the fact he was dying!! He only stopped breaking his bones bc he was told that if he did it again heād permanently damage his arms which would make it rlly hard for him to be a hero like he didnāt even consider using his quirk in other ways before then even when he was constantly in pain from shattering the hell out of his bones!! He was just like āitās working Iām saving people who cares if Iām in immense pain every time I activate my quirk thatās fineā like holy sh*t kid please care about yourself more!! In the sports festival he broke the bones in his hand TWICE OVER for someone heād hardly ever spoken to!! Like please PLEASE get some self worth you finally have real friends they can help you! You donāt have to do everything alone PLEASE let them help you!
Also heās so smart?! Not just book smart (even though he scored fourth in the class on midterms so heās obviously that too) but heās super observant and has crazy analyses on ppls quirks and beyond quirk observation heās really good at observing people too?! He analysed that the slime villainās weak spot was probably its eyes & threw the backpack at it startling it enough that it temporarily retreated? He observed Bkg enough that he knew exactly how heād act in the battle trial and devised a plan to help them win (which btw was NOT SAFE FOR HIM AT ALL & HE KNEW THAT & HE DIDNT CARE AS LONG AS HE COULD HELP THEIR TEAM WIN, another point re: last paragraph) & when he found out that Uraraka didnāt have anything that she could float to combat Iida with, he improvised by punching thru the building so that Uraraka had rubble she could use against Iida & he thought of that while in the middle of fighting Bakugou like!!! He! Is! So! Smart!!! He managed to hit the nail on the head about exactly what Todoroki needed to hear during their sports festival fight & made him remember that he could be his own kind of hero & that he wasnāt his father! He figured out the fake Uraraka wasnāt Uraraka at all just bc he KNOWS her and believes in her!!! He figured out some of mirioās strategy while he was completely wiping the floor with the rest of 1a and so figured out where heād pop up & tho he didnāt win that fight he did last longer than the rest of his class had! He figured out that he could use Eriās quirk to CONTINUOUSLY SHATTER & HEAL HIS OWN BONES (again he has NO self preservation and I am sad for him) so that he could fight with 100% of his power and hold on to Eri without being rewound out of existence & traumatizing her further & ALSO TOLD HER THAT HER QUIRK IS A BLESSING! I havenāt rlly gotten farther than that in the anime and I donāt read the manga but I KNOW Iām forgetting things but POINT IS heās really freaking smart which is another thing that makes him so interesting to watch!! Like how many characters do you know that r both really smart & really kind the stereotype seems to be one of the other but bc Midoriyaās awesome like that heās both!!
ALSO something else I rlly like about him is that heās kind and cares about people but when someone hurts a person he cares about he gets MAD & will do whatever he needs to do. He was scared of Bkg but when he implied Midoriya gave Uraraka her plan, he snapped at him & was like āitās her plan not mine you better respect her strength she did this not me!ā He was also scared of End**v*r (I donāt blame him! The guyās freakishly tall, literally covered in fire, and always angry!) but as soon as he insinuated Todoroki was just his pawn or smth Midoriya TOLD HIM OFF he was like āTodorokiās not you also f*ck you I hate youā (ok the last part is a lil exaggerated but still). When muscular was threatening Kota? He went FERAL & used 1,000,000% of his power (which. How tf is that even possible but I digress good for you Midoriya ily) to beat him just so this little kid (who literally punched him in the balls earlier) wouldnāt die like he was MAD mad. And when he found out what Ov*rh**l was doing to Eri? I thought Iād seen feral before but HOLY SH*T. He literally tried to KILL HIM (good for Midoriya. Child abusers & transphobes have no f*cking rights) he tried to stab him with that sharp piece of rock & THEN he did 100% full cowling with that absolutely chilling expression like heās so kind but there was NO trace of kindness on his face while he was fighting Ov*rh**l (good he doesnāt deserve it).
ANYWAYS ALL THIS TO SAY Midoriya is so smart and so strong and so genuinely kind & I love him & I wish heād love himself bc he deserves it! Iām glad 1a cares abt him so much bc itās!!! What!!! He!!! Deserves!!! Stan Midoriya ok rant over bye
Edit: ok wait rant not QUITE over Iāve got one more thing: with Urarakaās help he took a childhood nickname that he always HATED (like he specifically says that in the story donāt yāall try to downplay how much it hurt him) & completely changed the meaning. He even made it his HERO NAME he was like āthis isnāt gonna hurt me anymore Iāll make it into something I can be proud ofā and like. Even tho I donāt like the nickname and refuse to refer to Midoriya with it unless Iām specifically talking about his hero persona, THE POWER THAT HAS. Once he realized that he wasnāt alone anymore he just DECIDED to take something that had hurt him in the past & turn it not something that could comfort people in the future (bc we KNOW that heās gonna b the no 1 hero & ppl r gonna be comforted at hearing heās on the scene). He did that. Iām so proud of him.
#this is probably similar to other midoriya stan posts so Iām sorry abt that but i just love him & wanted to express that#its been said before but ill say it again bc he deserves it!!#midoriya izuku#bnha

Review: SPELUNKY 2 (2020)
Few things in the Year of the Apocalypse have brought us joy; once upon a time back in February, there was something about a Sonic the Hedgehog movie that people actually liked, and then we went full-on deep into madness. From there it was disappointment after disappointment; even an unstoppable giant with hype, The Last of Us: Part IIĀ fell apart under fan scrutiny despite huge critical success.
But then, there was light: Fall Guys, a true underdog of a game, released and swept the internet and gaming as a whole with excitement. Joyous, colorful, wild, aggravating, Fall GuysĀ single-handed brought catharsis to a series of unfortunate events, followed by a masterpiece of deception, Among Us. Also capturing colorful characters in the most unlikely of situations, Among UsĀ is the game of Secret Hitler that nobody knew they wanted, ruining friendships along the way -- a game I plan to do a write-up on soon. And yet, we still have another gem to consider now, one which is seven years in the making, and against all odds is just as good -- if not betterĀ -- than itās predecessor: Spelunky 2.
Once upon a time, a developer named Derek Yu released a pixellated exploration game that was a love letter to PitfallĀ and Indiana Jones. Dubbed Spelunky, it followed the trials and tribulations of the Spelunky Guy as he dove headfirst into a series of ever-changing caverns as he explored mines, jungles, icy caves, and Egyptian ruins to discover the City of Gold. It was released free online, and was well-received enough for Yu to work on an upgraded version, Spelunky HD. Gone were the retro pixels, replaced with detailed cartoon art and vibrant atmosphere. Telling the same story with the same levels, only now realized in higher quality and deeper secrets, Spelunky HDĀ helped create the roguelike genre, in which players start at the beginning of a game with nothing, slowly make their way through the game amassing items and weapons to assist them, but death takes them all the way back to the beginning pockets empty. Then, the game randomly generates a new series of levels for the player to try again, ensuring no two runs are ever the same. For some this is frustrating, for others an endearing challenge. Many have spent hours diving deep into the game, searching over and over for its most hidden secrets, discovering hidden paths and endings only achieved through insanely difficult methods. With that game cemented as a bona fide masterpiece, it seemed daunting to even consider a follow up, but Yu and development team Mossmouth have done it once more with Spelunky 2, a game that feels tighter, plays looser, and somehow holds even more secrets than the first game, partially due in part to the sequel having actual lore to follow and a story that literally is out of this world. Here the protagonist is Ana Spelunky, daughter of Guy Spelunky (the titular Spelunky Guy....the game is full of dad jokes like these), as she followers her adventurous father and mother to the moon as they have disappeared there. Turns out the Olmec guardian defeated in the first game also has a presence on Earthās satellite, and the Spelunkys have vanished in their quest to research this. So Ana, full of spunk and vigor and dog Monty in tow, steps into the spotlight on a completely new adventure, along with completely new friends.
Where the first game gave players options to discover and unlock new characters during the course of the game, Spelunky 2Ā treats these side characters as actual companions. A base camp at the start shows life and livelihood where everyone beds down and preps for the next expedition, where shortcuts to different stages can be traversed (once properly unlocked) and dialogue can be had. Thereās a simple joy just to stand around and see everyone youāve unlocked hanging out, walking around, as more and more beds occupy the camp. Itās a very subtle way of showing player progress that is both incredibly rewarding and relieving. And for the most part, itās the same essence of gameplay. Explore levels filled with creatures out to kill you, while collecting gold and rescuing animals. Gold can buy resources from the shops located in the levels, animals give you a kiss for extra health, but only if they make it to the end alive. Meanwhile, the areas are loaded with traps, bombs, hidden monsters, jars filled with any number of surprises, and bonus areas that can be unlocked with the proper use of a rope or a bomb. But tarry too long and the ghost that haunts this world will reveal itself, slowly stalking you until either you reach the end of the level or thereās nowhere else to run.
Differences with the new game come in gentle shocks: for starters, where the first game had a linear progression this one has multiple pathways that can be taken to get to the end. And minibosses! Journeying through the opening caves, divided into four sections, leads to a confrontation against a giant caveman named Quillback in World 1-4, which leads to a pair of doors, one on either side of the level. First time playing through might lead to discovering one of the doors due to the way theyāre split apart, but casual exploration to the opposite side reveals the truth: a whole new world. One door leads to Volcana, the underground mining operation in a volcano, the other leads to the Jungle, which has received deadly upgrades from itās previous life. Spelunky 2Ā is littered with these gentle shocks as I mentioned above: golden idols still set off traps when picked up, but the traps now vary from falling pillars to explosive lava to spiked walls. Beyond the Jungle and Volcana lies a boss fight with Olmec, making a surprise appearance early in the game. And from here the game moves ever onward, revealing new areas, new characters to unlock, new surprises. And the surprises are telegraphed even better than they were in the first game. For example: unlock a special box with a golden key in the Caves to gather the Eye of Udjat, which lets you see through the floor. But the Eye can also be used to start up the Drill in Volcana, the only way to power it. What happens when you use the drill? Gentle shocks, indeed. New ideas also include mounts to ride (once tamed, which can leave you vulnerable for a moment while you wait for the ride to settle), each one having a different attack or special ability, and brand new shops which can let you into their back rooms to loot...unless you have a skeleton key and you want to risk pissing them off by breaking and entering. But pissing off a shopkeeper usually results in guns blazing your direction, and the imminent threat of death.
Death is in abundance. The game knows it, you know it, the characters know it. With a premise around the idea that death is impermanent while inside the tunnels of the moon, it becomes eventual that the characters get in on the act. Turning the page in Anaās journal on the game over screen reveals little thoughts of hers on this leg of the journey: from base facts such as when she first took damage, to giggly details likeĀ āI was veganā (referring to the fact that she didnāt eat any turkeys or -- god help us -- cavemen for extra health), the game brims over with character aplenty. Even certain guardians refer to Ana asĀ āRebornā nodding to the endless cycle. And, in fact, it is endless: it keeps going and going and going until eventually there is the final level and the escape from the moon. But how long will it take to get there? What sacrifices must be made to make it that far? How many loops, deaths, rebirths? As always with Spelunky, there is gold both figurative and literal to be mined from the ruthless exploration. Secrets are deep and wide, surprises await around every corner (was that a LEPRECHAUN and did it drop a FOUR LEAF CLOVER??? And did that ghost just sPLIT into FOUr???), and all of it is rewarding.
It can be difficult to review a game that I havenāt finished. A lot of SpelunkyĀ players have never finished the game. Thereās a certain finesse to it, watching speedrunners bounce through levels undaunted, gathering miracle items to assist them. Then thereās players like me, that bumble and stumble their way into lucky runs and slowly earn shortcuts to different worlds. Itās a gamble every single time, and sometimes I wonder why I do it, but the charm and the fun and the fist-pumping feeling of success against all odds is what makes this game so much fun. And to think that Mossmouth not only captured the feeling of the first game, the majesty of it, and renewed all of that magic with the second. Someone made a blood sacrifice to craft this game, that much is for sure. As of this writing, the Playstation 4 version has been out for a few weeks, and the PC version for only a few days. After playing both I can confirm that they are precise, concise, and play exactly the same, although I do feel I had slightly better control response times on the PC. That said, online co-op is not yet available for PC, as Mossmouth is going over that aspect with a fine toothed comb. Having playing online day one for the PS4, I can say that the hiccups experienced then will be best served through Mossmouthās attention first. Online play has become much smoother since, but players deserve the best experience off the jump.
Spelunky 2Ā is mana from heaven in these trying times, and Iām gobbling as much of it as I can. And when a game like this is is this deep and wide, thereās a lot to gobble...and all of it is tasty.
Final Score: 9/10

EPISODE 6:Sorry hosts and viewers but we're keeping the inactivish girl. -Ryan M
My new tribe kinda slaps? Itās just nice playing with people who have the fight to win. We fucking S L A Y E D Jeopardy. Ken Jennings who? It felt so good helping my tribe win. For this reward comp Iām a little worried because we have a good system but if someone doesnāt show up, weāll all hit 5 and be screwed. Also poor Glo, sheās just out here doing her best. Sheās cute, but I donāt want that to carry her to the end like it did in Mongolia.
Finally have my computer back, so I can start writing confessionals as I think about the game. It sucks that Chloe was voted out. She was definitely my #1 ally in the game, so seeing her leave just sucks. And now I am on a tribe with 4 Royals who would be happy to vote me out the second we get to tribal council. I doubt my social game will let me leave here alive if we go to tribal. Instead, I just have to make sure we don't go to tribal. I need to put in all my effort in the next immunity challenge lest I want to be in the VL watching the rest of this season.
* a little later*
I've been socially active with Seamus and Amanda today. I hope I can grow a tight bond with them in order to keep myself safe for tribals to come. Especially if I manage to get to merge with a tight three. I'm praying that things work out because I need this for my own sanity.
Itās truly like babysitting this tribe lmao Like I know this is reward but how fucking hard is it to post on time. I worked a 9 hour shift today and still posted on time when I said I would. We have the lead, like why squander it. Also, Iām hoping we win out to til merge because I really donāt want to go into a tribal at swap in the minority. I feel like I might be making myself a target bc Iām being a little aggressive with this comp BUT I regret nothing.
I feel like Iāve been too MIA Iām kind of just ready for a tribal so I can get a little blood on my hands! Sorry I am the most boring player ever Iāll post something juicy tomorrow
I'm glad that we won the reward challenge. It must be a good omen for the next one, but I have to put in twice as much effort! I'm not planning on being the next one booted, so this tribe needs to pull its weight and get to winning!
Well I don;t know if I am coming or going or who is with me and who is not. I was lost on reward challenge and posted few times but they all offered to help me lol So how is my game ok I guess but I feel lost in a wilderness cause I think lots of these players know each other very well and I am lost
I feel so bad for Chloe. I stopped talking to her after Seamus told me she was debating between voting for me or Amanda. I feel like we all felt like we liked Chloe but we've spent so much time together. And also maybe a pagoning or w/e would be a little fun!!!! She's so sweet I wish she started off a royal.
Well I just BOMBED that challenge. Ā I love to read but suddenly my mind went blank and I could only think of books with long titles! HAHA. Ā I majored in art in college for a year and suddenly I forgot every color in existence! Hopefully the other tribes blanked so we'll be safe. 0:-) If not... maybe the royals will stay together but no lie, I've been talking to John and Lachie more than Pippa and Ryan.
I'm happy two tribes are going to tribal. Because I really want to see them vote ugly people out!!! But also if we go to tribal nbd Raffy goes. He's completely okay! But I love Seamus and Amanda and I think I can also get Anabel to trust me come merge time. xo
I am praying to god all-mighty that we win
WE LITERALLY COULD'VE WON IF ANABEL DID EVEN HALF THE CHALLENGE!!!!! I was so down to get rid of Raffy... still could... I like Anabel. But... I already feel bad about voting out Chloe and this time it's like... obvi Ana deserves to be voted out... ughĀ
I hope the 5 movies Glo could muster up in 60 seconds were all of the Twilight franchise movies
*Dan comes back ten minutes later*
Okay but real talk, 5 movies??? Glo you could only name 5 movies in 60 seconds? If she had done as well as Asya and gotten 28 we wouldnāt have gone to tribal. I really pray I can get Dane or Linus to team up with Asya and I. I mean if it comes down to it and I have to vote out Asya, I guess she better get those bags packed!
I am so pissed that we lost. We easily could have won this competition if Anabel had participated, but she's evidently bad at time management. If you knew you were going to be busy the next day, why wouldn't you do the challenge the night it was posted? I'm so over it! For once, I didn't want to have to go to tribal, but now I can't even have that. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that I am the target since I am not a Royal which is utter bullshit. Hopefully my social game has paid off and I have bonded enough with these people, but I am not too sure about that. I'll just have to put it all my effort into saving myself, or my game is sunk. Pray for me.
* a little later*
I think I can get Seamus. He and I have talked a lot during the limited amount of time we've had together. I want to consider him an ally, but I'm not sure if he hasn't been doing this with everyone else. My target is going to be Anabel for three reasons: 1. She is a winner (literally won last season) which makes a threat going into merge 2. She singlehandedly lost us the challenge 3. I haven't personally talked to her a lot so she's the easiest to target for me I want to get everyone on board, but I need to not pester them. However, I cannot just let the vote casually go towards me either. I'm not going out without a fight
OK SO. glo sucks at challenges. like itās real bad. which is good for me. cause linus is like he doesnāt have any allegiances or whatever to old arioi and just wants to succeed so like. letās cut the dead weight. obviously dan is down and thatās all we need. iād like to get dane on board too but itās not necessary. like really, i just wanna keep my no vote streak. which means if dane and glo vote for a manahune, itās dan and not me.
Seamus brought up Anabel's name to me which is a good sign. He also told me that I shouldn't worry about being the only Rebel, and he is open to keeping/working with me. I hope he's telling the truth. Apparently, he's only talked to me about the vote, so I am hoping that's a good sign. Now I need to approach Amanda and Ryan. If one just votes for Ryan, then I should be good.
*he talks a lot*
Amanda seems open, but reserved. She's acting noncommittal which is worrying for me. I have to speak with Ryan later and get him on board. Keeping this tribe together will help me going into a merge. I'm just hoping Amanda joins my side and not Anabel's, in the end. There is still time to save myself.

So tribal council is coming up soon and I legit have no idea what I'm doing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get voted out tonight since I'm spreading myself too thin. I have a couple ideas going on through my head and I can't decipher which plan will be the best to project me moving forward. The first plan I have is to stay royal strong and vote out Asya. I have Glo and Linus as fellow Royals to make the majority. If I do successfully blindside Dan and Asya tonight then we have the majority going into the last pre-merge stage. However, Glo isn't the strongest in challenges and this could result in us going back to tribal council. If we do go back to tribal council then there is the chance that Dan can pull out an idol and take me out. If we don't even go to tribal then there's no chance of me rebuilding the burnt bridge with Dan prior to going to the merge, resulting in another person coming after me. Also continuing into merge, I imagine I'm at the bottom of the royals tribe. People can "like" me but that doesn't necessarily mean that they want to work with me. I'd be continuing this trend of saving people that don't want to work with me. The other plan in place is for Linus and I to team up with Dan and Asya to vote out Glo. If we are possibly merging after tonight then voting out Glo in my opinion is one of the smartest decisions. She is very well liked and she's a very loyal player, I don't think she will ever be targeted and it'll be an easy flow for her to get to the end of the game. Also, Linus was telling me that Anabel talks to Glo A LOT, and that lowkey just reinforces this idea that I created of an all-winners alliance existing. If we have another tribal stage I don't imagine that it will be a double trial again so getting rid of Glo (the weakest competitor on our tribe) might be the best decision for the tribe. Also with getting rid of Glo, this helps solidify some sort of allegiance with Dan + Asya. Going into the merge with Linus, Dan, Asya would open up so many doors. Dan and Asya are very close with the rest of the Rebels plus, Dan and Amanda are high school friends. I spoke to Dan and I think we'd possibly team up to take out Ryan M. Ryan M. always plays these games personally and votes out Dan, and now that him and I are not on great terms Ryan will target me. I explained that to Dan that neither of us would win with Ryan M. still in the game so we need to pull strength and get him out together. Plus we matched on Tinder one time so that'll help build some trust with Dan. Right now I think the benefits of voting out Glo outweighs voting out Asya so I think that's how we'll go. You can't predict the future but I can outweigh the pros and cons and keeping Dan + Asya on my side while pissing off the Royals majority might benefit me more than being a sheep led to slaughter
I lied to Raffy about not voting him... I mean he's not dumb he probably has a string inkling. I just feel bad . Like Anabel deserves to go home but I think she'll save me in the future. Plus she has beef with Lachie we can feed off of. I'm sorry Chloe and Im sorry Raffy. Sorry hosts and viewers but we're keeping the inactivish girl.
So Um the votes landed on Glo? Super easily? So Iām assuming Iām getting blindsided
I think I should be good for this tribal. Everyone has given me their word that they are voting Anabel, and Seamus seems trustworthy. I just hope my trust his well-placed.
